FAQs
who uses these hotties? hotties are for all ages! hotties are a great way to warm up on a cold rainy/snowy day. hotties can be used to relieve sore muscles, for cramps, or creaky body parts. you can take them skiing, toboganning, or on car rides. hotties are the most versatile and economic warming companion that you can find! as long as you can access hot water, you'll have a warm body.
are hotties good for little people? hotties are not recommended for toddlers and young children, but use your own discretion! ***with that said, i have had MANY customers purchase hotties for their babies and toddlers--to put in the bed, or baby stroller on a cold winter walk. nothing works better!, they say. things to remember are: only use hot tap water in the rubber insert to ensure that the hottie doesn't get too hot; and monitor your child's temperature and exposure to the hottie as very young children are unable to push themselves off the hottie.
where do i get the rubber hot water insert? when you purchase a hottie, the rubber water insert is included with the cozy. this makes things easy for you, so that you won't have to go searching for the right fit.
how long does the hottie stay warm for? of course, this depends on how you are using it. i don't have any scientific measurements for this, but when i fill mine up and put it under my duvet in my bed, it is still warm in the morning.
what temperature of water should i use? you can use really hot tap water, or boiled water that has been allowed to cool a couple of degrees.
how do i fill the hottie? the best way is to keep the rubber insert in the cozy and just fold back the top of the hottie cover. remove the nozzle and fill it up with as much water as you need. carefully squeeze out the excess air in the insert and replace the nozzle. flip the hottie cover back over the rubber insert and voila! remember to only use water and avoid all other liquids, please.
how do i clean my hottie? remove the hottie cover from the rubber insert. you can either put the cover in the washing machine on cold gentle cycle, or hand wash it cold. in either case, lay flat to dry.
how do i store my hottie? when you aren't using the hottie as a warming device, you can remove the insert from the cover and stuff it with some scarves of soft stuff and use it as a pillow! the rubber insert should be fully dried and stored in a cool, dark, dry place.
remember to inspect your hottie every year before using it to make sure there are no holes or cracks!
