Janice Yan-Yan Wu's work explores pattern, accumulation, and the value of handwork. Her investigations are firmly bound to her interest in both cloth and cloth-making processes. She maintains a broad-based practice including sculpture, installation, performance, and other tangential explorations.

Wu has exhibited work in solo and group exhibitions across Canada. She has attended the Haystack Mountain School of Craft in Deer Isle, Maine, USA, and participated as artist in residence with the Calgary Allied Arts Foundation, the Banff Centre for the Arts, and was recently a residence fellow at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont, USA. She is a recipient of several project & research grants from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. Janice currently lives and works in Montreal, QC, Canada.
